10 questions answered
Q1

How does the PraniID QR Tag work when a lost pet is found?

Show answer

Anyone who finds a tagged animal can scan the QR with a standard phone camera — there is no app to install. The scan opens that animal's public profile in a browser, showing the details its caregiver chose to share: the photograph, breed, age, vaccination records, care notes, and whatever contact options are enabled. From the same page a finder can submit a sighting with their own location, which reaches the guardian and the animal's organisation.

Q2

Can I register a stray dog or community animal?

Show answer

Not as an individual at the moment. Individual pet-owner and feeder accounts are closed while the shelter and NGO tooling is finished, so a private person cannot sign up for their own account today. Shelters, sanctuaries, NGOs and gaushalas can apply for access, and an administrator approves the application before sign-in unlocks. Once approved, the console registers community animals, records ARV vaccination dates and sterilisation status, and links a printed QR tag to each one.

Q3

Is PraniID free to use?

Show answer

Yes. There is no paid tier and no checkout anywhere in the product — everything the console does is free, including unlimited animals, vaccination records, printable tags and adoption listings. Access is by application rather than by payment: a shelter applies, an administrator approves, and there is nothing to pay afterwards.

Q4

What animals can have a PraniID?

Show answer

Dogs, cats, cows, buffalo, goats, sheep, horses, camels, pigs, birds and rabbits each have their own entry, and there is an Other option for anything not on that list. Tags come in five formats — collar, ear, halter, leg band, and a printed passport card — so the same profile works for a street dog, a shelter intake and a dairy animal.

Q5

What vaccination records can I track?

Show answer

You can log any vaccine: Rabies (ARV), DHPP, FVRCP, FeLV, FMD, Coggins, Equine Flu, RHDV2, and custom vaccines. Each record stores given date, next due date, batch number, clinic and doctor notes, with automated due-date reminders flagging overdue and expiring vaccines.

Q6

How do I get access for my shelter or gaushala?

Show answer

Apply using the button on any page, fill in your organisation details, and an administrator reviews it. Once approved you receive login credentials and can start registering animals immediately.

Q7

Does the finder need to install an app to scan the QR tag?

Show answer

No. The QR code opens the animal's public profile in any standard smartphone camera or browser. The finder sees the photograph, medical notes and guardian contact options — call, WhatsApp, SMS — and can submit a GPS sighting. Zero app installs.

Q8

Can I install PraniID on my phone like an app?

Show answer

Yes. PraniID is a Progressive Web App. On Android Chrome, tap the install prompt or use the menu then Install app. On iOS Safari, use the Share button then Add to Home Screen. Once installed it works offline with cached data and supports push notifications for vaccine reminders.

Q9

What tag formats are available?

Show answer

Five: QR collar tag for dogs and cats, QR ear tag for cattle, goats and sheep, QR halter tag for horses and camels, QR leg band for birds, and a printable passport card for wallet or carrier carry. All are free to generate as high-resolution files.

Q10

Can I track FMD and other cattle vaccinations?

Show answer

Yes. You can log FMD, HS (Haemorrhagic Septicaemia), BQ (Black Quarter), deworming and any custom vaccine. Each record stores given date, next due date, batch number, clinic and doctor, with automated reminders flagging overdue vaccines.
