Camera QR scanner
The app requests camera permission and scans collar, ear, halter and leg band tags directly, using the browser's barcode detection with a fallback decoder.
No app store, no download size, no waiting for a review. PraniID installs straight to your phone's home screen and keeps working when the network does not — so vaccination records stay reachable in a shed, a stable, or a remote shelter.
Everything below works from the installed app, including with no connection.

A service worker caches the app and your animal data, so records open, edits save, and vaccines can be logged with no connection at all.
Push notifications flag vaccines approaching or past their next due date, so ARV and core boosters are not missed.
A GPS sighting submitted while offline is held locally and sent automatically once the connection returns, so a report is never lost.
Shortcuts for scanning a tag, registering an animal, opening vaccine reminders and opening birthday reminders, straight from the app icon.
There is nothing to update by hand. Reload the app and it is on the latest build, with no version prompts for your team.
A deliberate choice, not a limitation.

No, and that is deliberate. PraniID is a Progressive Web App. You install it directly from the browser to your home screen — Android uses the Chrome menu Install app option, iOS uses Share then Add to Home Screen. There is no store review delay, no large download, and no manual updates, so you always have the current version.
Yes. The Service Worker caches the static assets and your shelter's animal data. You can scan QR tags, view and edit animal profiles, log vaccinations and manage adoptions while offline. When the connection returns, queued changes sync in the background.
On Android with Chrome, open praniid.me and tap the install banner at the bottom, or use the Chrome menu then Install app then Install. On iOS with Safari, open praniid.me, tap Share, scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen then Add. The icon then appears on your home screen like a normal app.
Yes. The app requests camera permission and uses the Web Barcode Detection API, with jsQR as a fallback, to scan collar, ear, halter and leg band QR tags directly in the app. On supported devices the Scan QR Tag home screen shortcut opens the camera immediately.
